classical_music

If the music heard overhead at your gym isn’t help you get in shape, you’re not alone. While science has proven time and time again that music helps you get the most from a workout, the type of music that makes your workout most effective could surprise you!
Studies suggest that classical music may actually produce the best results in the gym.
Neuroscientist, Jack Lewis, found that while all music helps athletes train harder and longer, classical music actually has more benefits than the regular upbeat music typically heard blaring at the gym. Here’s how:
  1. Its relaxing tones appear to reduce heart rate, blood pressure, AND lower perceived exertion all at the same time
  2. Shown to lower levels of cortisol, the hormone associated with stress, which allows you to focus on the task at hand
  3. It can pace your workout for you if you try and match your heart rate to the beat of the music! Classical music provides a wide range of tempos beneficial for warming up, endurance training, and leaving it all out on the floor
Here are some suggestions of songs to add to your gym playlist!
Concerto No. 2- BWV 1053 – Bach
Chariots of Fire Vangelis
Prelude to Act 1 Of CarmenBizet
Overture from William Tell – Rossini
Auf Der Jagd – Strauss
Finale from 1812 Overture – Tchaikovsky
